Niall Ferguson is Laurence A. Tisch Professor of History at Harvard University. The bestselling author of Paper and Iron, The House of Rothschild, The Pity of War, The Cash Nexus, Empire, Colossus, and The War of the World, he is also a contributing editor of the Financial Times.

In The Ascent of Money, familiar historical landmarks appear in a sharper financial focus as Ferguson charts the origins of key financial institutions and concepts. The Ascent of Money also documents how a new financial revolution is propelling the world’s biggest countries, India and China, from poverty to wealth in the space of a single generation—an unprecedented economic transformation.

This series features James F. Hoge, editor and Peter G. Peterson Chair of Foreign Affairs, chairman of the International Center for Journalists, and CGA Advisory Board Member, in conversation with leading journalists and authors. Books will be available for sale.
