From the editor: Like NYU, the New School swarms with centers, institutes and programs that host public panels and talks. An after-discussion wine reception is not unheard of.
The Center for Economic Policy Analysis' events are often only palatable (or comprehensible) to a real economist - or serious wonk-wannabe - but occasionally they'll pull together a panel for the average curious Joe.
From CEPA's site: The Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis is the economic policy research arm of the New School for Social Research Department of Economics. The activities of the Schwartz Center focus on three issues: economic growth, employment, and inequality. Our focus is on the U.S. economy, but always with an awareness of the global context of U.S. economic developments.
